Adults
Through the process of creative thinking and art making we will learn to establish a state of mindfulness. We call this 'action meditation'.
Adults & Kids (All Ages)

Seniors & Adults
In this class, we will learn to draw Kōlam, an age-old artform from India where drawings are made with rice flour and bare fingers. Kōlam drawing has proven benefits for the mind, body, and intellect.

Many of Akṣarā's classes have won awards from NYC art councils for their unique one-of-a-kind curriculums that help enhance creative thinking and artistic skills. Also, our programs are designed by professional artists and designers.
All classes are 90 minutes long thus giving ample time for participants to settle in and enjoy a longer session of creative thinking and discussion.
Our class sizes are small, typically with no more than 10 students per class. This allows for more personalized attention and interaction between students and instructors. We require a minimum of 3 registrants to get any class started.
All our classes are drop-in classes. This is also because we believe kids enjoy a different freedom of thought and expression when let alone to hang around with their peers. For our Family Creative Circle classes, we require parents (and not caregivers) to be around and participate with their children.
All classes will be taken in Akṣarā Studio, 10 W End Ave, #10A, New York, NY 10023. The closest subway stops ACBD12 trains to Columbus Circle.
