Contemporary Expressions

Let your child find creative expression by indulging in Indian culture. Each month we will approach different aspects of Indian culture and through dialogue, discussion, and art-making kids will indulge in contemporary cultural conversations. Art-making processes will vary from painting to clay sculpting to digital media.

Art Through Mindfulness

Adults lack time and opportunity for creative thinking in their environments. They need it more than kids! They need it for effective communication, stressless collaborations, finding new solutions when constrained with resources, and for getting over their fear of failures.

Family Creative Circle

No better bonding than making art with your family members! In this circle of art time adults learn from the fearlessness of the younger ones to create and younger ones learn from the adults' creative thinking processes or vice-versa!

2023 GRANTEE!

In 2023 Akṣarā is a participant in SU-CASA, a community arts engagement program at a senior center in New York City. This program is supported by public funds from the New York City Council, in partnership with the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA) and the Department for the Aging (DFTA).
